I don't even know how to do a search on this. I was tearing apart a Lexmark printer and came upon this board:
Here's a close up of the chip I'm asking about:
Since I know very little about this stuff, I'm wondering what it is. Don't know whether or not printers even have a CPU inside them.

I think thats an IC. Processors look a little different.
IC, just leave it on the board.

You know, I saw that but it's one of those things that just didn't register. I hate when that happens!

If that printer had some memory card slots then yes it might have a processor cause you need to do different functions with it and some printers will load the whole picture/flyer first before it starts printing. (so it has to have memory to do that)
That board would be a mid grade.
