I have contacted everyone within a good reasonable driving distance, and no one will accept them gutted. Heck, i have even told them that i would give them to them ungutted, and still no go. Everyone has told me the same thing, they MUST be working and have a remote.
The landfills here that I take everyone junk related to, recycle everything that they get. They have areas for junk, construction debri, mulch, brush debri, you name it. The only thing that actually gets put in the ground, is biodegradable stuff.
The landfills recycle everything and get paid for it all.
I wish I didnt have to resort to trash or the landfill, but I have no choice. So, as I get the TVs, I take a sledge, knock enough of the back off, to grab the degaussing cable and yoke and some of the wire, and then leave the rest and dump it.
When a organization around here actually will take them, then I will be happier than a kid on Christmas to take them to them ungutted.
