If their still good, you might try selling them on Ebay a lot at a time. Probably get more for them then scrap.

That's a good idea, I have CAT5 tester somewhere. I'd say half of them were cut into pieces when they got pulled out of racks, but the others should be fine.

Just wondering what kind of price per pound these ends would bring? Want to determine if worth time or not to save. Thanks

Which ends specifically?? If your just talking about the gold ends in general then their worth a little over 2.00 a lb.

Are the end of cell phone chargers gold connectors?

I learned from reading this thread that the connectors on the orange cables in the following picture are gold connectors. What is the rest of the wire made of? I imagine it is just plain ol "computer wire" $.70/lb ish, but it looks like it should be worth more.

This looks like it came from the slim Dell P4's, laptops, or printers. The 'wire" is Mylar with Cu printed on it. nothing special.

Cut the connectors off and sell the rest.

Depends on whether the contacts on the mylar are silver or gold colored. Ive sold 1 ounce of gold mylar for $50.

I've been pulling the pins out of the ends of CAT5 connectors for awhile now. They're fairly easy to get out, I just use a flat tip screwdriver or even my fingernails and the pins readily pop out. The shape of the pins can be seen in the following pics.

CAT 5 connectors have 8 pins each. I counted 900 connectors which gave me a little over 2 oz of gold plated pins. It'll take alot of these to make any kind of weight but you can sit watching your favorite TV show while pulling the pins out. Hope this helps.
