    My ride is over

I have been getting .40/lb for low grade (mainly tv boards) for the past two months......Got to the yard today with another 150lbs and was informed they had been overpaying me and were only able to offer scrap price for these boards now.......I don't feel sorry for these guys at this yard as they were the ones that offered me this price in the first place..........It was however a nice run for a couple of months.....LMFAO

boo!! sorry to hear about that Mike. I just finished cleaning up and weighing all my low grade boards from my HUGE crt deal about 30 min ago. I ended up getting 16 fifty gallon trash cans full. they all weigh about 70-100 lbs each.I am guessing I have at least half a ton of them. With fathers day coming up I was going to the Nc mts anyway (to suprise pops)and was hoping to swing by and see you. Oh well...win some ...loose some. I guess it in on to plan B for the low grade boards. Thanks for your help anyway.

Same thing happen to me at my yard last Monday. I was getting $3.50 lb for all boards.......... The first day I went to them I spoke with the buyer. I told him I had a galore box full back at the yard and was just shopping my boards around to see how they graded them. He paid me $3.50 lb ( 35lbs). I went back on Sat. with 60 Lbs. of mixed boards 20 lbs tv boards, med grade 20 lbs, High grade 20 lbs ( again...... I got $3.50 lb). However, on Monday me and another member took in another mixed load and this time they said they could only pay $3.50 for motherboards with sockets. " I thought I had a good deal going$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yeah it hurt when I took that 150 lbs and was used to getting around $60 FOR IT and I got $39 with the other little stuff I had........LOL I knew they were buying to high and I made as many trips as I could but breaking down low grade stuff is time consuming as we all know.....!

on one hand it is a little offensive, to me to take advantage of some ones lack of information and knowledge. I believe the vulture profit and greed attitude in this country today is a big part of the trouble we are in. When Goldman sacks does it we are ready to hang them all to the nearest light post, however it is different when we do it on a smaller scale.

on the other hand if you lack the knowledge to operate a particular business and are not willing to educate your self before jumping in, maybe you deserve what you get.

    What are your opinions?

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, except my yard stopped buying them altogether with the copper price being down. For some reason, they had to do it right as I was getting close to hauling in my biggest single load of them in.

This is how it went down so of course I have no problems with it.....When I first started going to this yard I was throwing the low grade in with the scrap........Then the workers started taking them out of my load over to the non-ferrous scale and weighing them up at .20/lb......I said to myself kewl.......I continued to bring em and about a week later the guy working the scale said we are going to pay you .40/lb for all "chips" he called them.........Of course no argument there so I only assumed they were getting top dollar or breaking them down in house (copper, aluminum etc....) They initiated the deal by pulling the boards out of my scrap and offering to give me a better price.......They must have thought they had a gold mine on their hands......They sell me all there ram, mboards, and gold finger boards so they must have wondered why I was selling these boards to them......I guess they figured it out the hard way.....Also do you think if I was stupid enough to buy mboards from them at $10/lb and then went to sell and could only get around 3.50/lb they would give me my money back......NAW

And I wouldn't consider that being a vulture just a smart biz man because as soon as they offered me that price I gobbled up monitors and low grade by the trailer full..........

seems like both aspects of my comment took place here. if you notice I took both sides. Had I been offered the .40 im sure I would have taken it too thinking they knew something I didn't.
