    Fuc*** scammers

Again scammed. And ebay bull**** stance, o we aint there when you open the box so we cant prove or disaprove it happened. We basically think your lying and trying to not pay for the return and your scammign basically bs. Like I would cut the frickign flywheel off the shaft. I have a oxy torch, I could get it off with zero damage in extreme cases.

Well I sold a treadmill motor. I normally pull the flywheel off of it and shipped seperatley. This flywheel was beign a tricky sob, so left it on. Post office of course damaged it. There was a crack in the flywheel where it threads on to the shaft. But shaft seemed straight. Guy open return. I offered to ship another flywheel for 20 bucks for it. Or tell him to file a damage claim with usps. He is going on and on and on saying improper packaging. But the tracking number clearly shows it arrived danged, post office noted damage right on tracking number. So he is fighting with me and i finally authorize return at my expense back.

Well would you believe the fuc*** sob decided to cut the **** flywheel off the shaft?? Destroying the threads and cutting half the shaft off with a cutting wheel. This was not shown in pictures in the return and ebay could care less as fuc*** usual. So I filed a ice report today and local police report and reported him on ebay, but still out shipping both ways. As well as my product. If he left it alone and sent it back, I could have had gotten the flywheel off and sold it without the flywheel. Cause people buy them for lathes, wind mills, and such. And the flywheel is not needed for those applications, only for a treadmill. I'm pissed. If this guy was close I would take a drive and hit him in the head with the flywheel...lollol

    Pictures for your viewing please.

Note he did send pics in return showing damaged flywheel and the crack from the post office, not how it came back

and you should take pics of the missing part and send in with the pics he sent. Ebay should have seller's protection that will take care of the shipping and get your money back. If the 1st person doesn't do it, appeal it and go higher. All this of course depends on how much money it is and if you want to spend the time for the money recovered....I like to prove my points and poking the bear (me) usually is a bad idea. I have been known to spend more in time than what it was worth to win...but I F^&*ING won. And the next person that trys that crap, I just remind them that I do in fact appeal, have done it, and have won the 2 times I have had to do it recently.

Just my 2 cents. All this depends on your value of your time vs your value on reminding scammers they don't get to win.

I already tried to appeal and lost. I posted ebays response. They didnt care about my proof as their stance anymore is we are not their when you open the box. So we cant prove if it really came back that way. And that has happened before on other auctions as well. I just had a laptop come back that was accurately described and I proved it with documentation directly from the manufacturers site. It was a 1.4 quad core amd proc that had had turbo feature that would bump proc to 2.3 under load. Winows 7 only shows 1.4 under my computer stats. I listed in the title of the auction it was a 2.3 proc, but under listing using ebay catalog it even said in clear print it is a 1.4 proc with 2.3 turbo. So I went as far proving it is indeed a 2.3 proc under load as per toshiba. Ebay allowed the return without even looking at the documentation and to boot the guy stole the windows key off of it. Which was in my pictures when it was listed and I proved to ebay it wasnt there when it came back. Again same stance. We not there when you open the box.

So I really think Im going to try amazon. They really are pro buyer and con seller and really dont give a rats ass about the seller, but god forbid the seller is right and the buyer is a scammer.

I feel your pain 1st hand. Just went through a very similar "Fight" with Ebay. They didn't protect me as a seller either. Even though I PROVED he damaged the item on purpose.. to teach me some juvenile "Packing Lesson" And they let him get away with it!

I'm trying to unravel this a little.

    1. you sold and shipped a treadmotor to your ebay customer.

    2. it arrived at customer's location damaged and USPS noted it had been damaged(I am assuming they are admitting fault).

    3. you said your customer refused to make a claim against USPS.

My (perhaps mistakenly) understanding is you, the shipper is the one who needs to initiate the claim with USPS.

Returning or not returning is an up to you and ebay thing.

If I am correct then you offering to sell this guy an additional flywheel seems the wrong thing to do until the other factors are cleared up(item damaged by USPS).

One other note you mentioned you normally sell these motors without a flywheel. So in this case you did include the flywheel and I assume the photos in your listing showed that the flywheel was still installed. If the addition of the flywheel may have contributed to the shipping damage you may want to make adjustments.

Selling used stuff has a lot of pitfalls and ebay and any shipping company can be part of the pitfalls. When there is a problem I try to not assume the worst and even speak to ebay reps before taking any actions. I also get p_ssed but going a little slower may save you money later. 73, Mike

For the people who are having all kinds of problems like this, I have some advice: Vet out your buyers and use the BLOCK feature. I have probably 200 people on my block list. Also set your buyer requirements as high as they go. This weeds out a lot of the bottom feeders. I have sold thousands of items and had one or two people try to scam me, both unsuccessfully.

If I get a weird feeling about someone, they immediately go on my block list. Offer me 15.00 on a 100.00 item, blocked. Ask me 20 stupid questions, blocked.

Every single time someone makes a "best offer", I go and check their "feedback let for others". If they have left any kind of shady feedback, or leave tons of negatives, blocked.

Yes, I block a ton of people. Am I limiting the number of potential buyers for my items, absolutely. But I hardly ever have problems.

    Auburn:
I have a large blocked bidder list, but when you are offering items at Buy It Now, and some dude purchases and pays before you even know it, it is tough to know that someone is going to be an arse. The guy that I was dealing with has 260+ Positive feedbacks. Only after it arrived did I get the "Improperly packed.. need 2" of bubble cushion all the way around.. oh and you should be able to drop it from 30" 10 different ways" FedEx speech- All too late to go the blocked bidder route unfortunately. Is he on the list now? You betcha!

The bottom line is this: eBay does not care about the sellers. They know that they are the big cheese in town and all the sellers want to be there. What they care about are the buyers. Yes, some sellers have prevailed, myself included, but I believe that eBay has their own criteria for which sellers they choose to protect and I do not know what they are. Unfortunately, their policies are heavily weighted in favor of the buyer. Especially for shipping issues, if you have an item worth over $50, buy insurance.

This has been the case for a while now in regards to eBay an is the number one reason I no longer deal with. Don't try an convert me, I used them for many years before I ever did ewaste. I'll continue to use my methods that work for me an don't include eBay.

Sorry to see folks go thru this though. It's getting to be a right of passage nowadays with selling on eBay. Folks like Auburn, Webuy, an many others have offered up tips to lower the chances of this happening, but nothing is 100% for sure. One doesn't have to have this happen hundreds of times, it can take just a few to put a bad taste in ones mouth.

Folks see eBay an see "Ooooh Millions of people to see my stuff!" An seem to ignore the otherside...of those millions a couple thousand are a bunch of scamming twits who could make Mother Theresa curse.

I'll say it again tho. Sucks to see folks go thru this. Dealing with eBay, dealing with a PITA customer, etc. I wish you all luck with your current battles an hope you don't have to deal with it to often, but like a lot of things, it's something most people will eventually deal with when using sites like eBay, CL, an yes, even Amazon.

Good luck an stock up on stress relievers, having a heart attack due to some twit, isn't cool.

And now another scammer. Guy tells me part wont work with his car and broken.Kinda funny as i was ase certified and close to 20 years fixing crap. And it was tested. The parts is only good for 2002 - 2004 according to hollander and listed in auction. Turns out he bought for 2006 and ebay is allowing the return on my frickign dime. Im tired of payign for idiots...really am. I'm this close to throwing all the ebay inventory i have in the truck and drop off at the closest scrap yard. I dont care i have thousands in auto parts and computers part..no market...so its scrap. Im done. Guy blatantly admitted on return he lied about being broken and that it was bought for a 06 which it wont for a 06. But ebay allows return? wtf man

Put a restocking fee in your auctions for working items returned to cover return postage (if allowed). The items I sold on ebay were listed as as-is no returns or refunds and had no issues with them.

If the shipper breaks something you are the one who needs to file a claim, you should get your money back.

There are just as many scammers as there are bad sellers on ebay. You need to learn to protect yourself and how to properly pack items for shipment to reduce broken items and returns.
