I know you can sell stuff on ebay but if you work harder on the photos and clean up the item you will sell quicker and for more money. By work harder on the photos I mean look for background material to put your item on for the photos. Take several photos and test them out on the "preview" of your listing. Look at your listing as if you were a customer without the on hand view of the item for sale just what is in the photos and description. Keep at it and you will find success, Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked

I dont understand, I thought the background was just ducky. I do need a better camera than my cell I will admit. But the linoleum floor or my desk is perfect. I normally use cardboard or a usps envelope. Please explain how I can make it better? Now much I can do with the compressor head, unless I construct a box with a curtain.

I use an older Canon D60 DSLR- it's 10 years old, but I can take some nice photos with it. I frame my items on a wooden desk, and that's worked well for me.

How long did it take to sell the Ford air cleaner box? I have one in the shop somewhere....

Well you did sell them so it did work. If you intend to continue selling on ebay you should do more research. Here is what I mean. Find a thing that you want to sell or just items you are familiar with and look them up on ebay. Check for used and sold and then compare the description and photos and end prices. I have seen things sold for top price with out of focus photos and dirt on the item, but not many.

So yes make a photo box. I made mine out of some heavy white paper that I recovered from an arts and crafts store dumpster. I need to do a better job and I will when I get my office de-cluttered.

Lastly I buy stuff from ebay and amazon and I like good descriptions, I want to see photos of every side of an item I am buying if it is a used item. Best to you, Mike

I am by far not an expert but even a plain white sheet makes the background look less cluttered

    For example

Antique Vintage Cast Aluminum Corn Bread Mold 7 Pieces Estate Item | eBay

I sometimes buy off craigslist for computer items and it amazes me of some of the pictures........Computers surrounded by cigarette butts, beer bottles etc I would never buy just because I know they probably have not cared for item
