Sold a listing and this is the convesation I had with buyer AFTER he bought and paid.

[listing discription] [included a photo of the factory box full to the top]
Box of around 200 handset cords. This is a multiple listing, I have 4 boxes. The boxes have been opened so I am NOT 100% positive each box has all 200 cords. They all weigh the same.

[his question] [after he bought and paid]
I have a customer who ordered 200, so it has to be exactly 200. I need that assurance, plse thnx

    [my answer]
Please ask questions before buying. I have this ready to ship and if I did not notice this message it would have gone in 30 min.
I can not guarantee the box has 200. I am not going to count them. This is less then half of what they would cost me wholesale.
Do you want me to ship them?

    [his reply]
You are an idiot I am buying based on the fact there is 200 of them.. YOU CANT EVEN COUNT IT and you have the guts to come here screaming orders. REFUND MY MONEY IN FULL .. For all I care "about 200" could be fifty, it could be 100 , it could be anything. what did I pay $90 for ? I deserve to know

    [My reply]
WOW!! I said Please. I am sorry if I came off as being that rude. The listing clearly states that there may not be 200. Originally I had 4 boxes and each box has 2 smaller boxes and one was open in each box. I don't know where you buy yours but this box would cost me $180 wholesale.
You paid $90 for a box that most likely has 200 cords.
Orders???? I told you I was not going to count them and asked if you wanted them.

I refunded his money and did not ship them. He sells refurbished phones on eBay.

I would block him from future auctions , some people just don't read item descriptions . You handled it well by keeping your cool.

Betting he also dinged your DSR scores with 1's or 2's
I would approach eBay as he is a competitor and only made the purchase so he could leave you the NEG
They might >> Just might >> remove using that as a reason

And this is why I no longer use ebay. Too many deadbeats, Flaky McFlakersons, whiners, people looking to get one over on you, and people in general who can't read, yet somehow magically find their way to ebay, register, and bid on stuff.

Ho only gives a 14 day warranty on refurbished phones. I don't sell many refurbished phones but any desk phone I sell or repair gets a 1 year warranty that covers anything short of coffee spills or throwing it across the room.
I reported his feedback to eBay and will wait to see if anything happens before I leave him some.

So what's the alternative? Amazon? CL?
I use cl but don't care for some of the riff- raff you deal with.

I only ship to the PayPal address. He probably would have sold them for $300 or more. Hiss loss.

I have had one negative and managed to get it removed also got a neutral and had it removed as well. It took me perhaps an hour on the telephone with a couple of ebay reps.

What I had going for me is the record of the messages with the buyer. Certainly one of them threatened to give me a negative feed back if I didn't give a full refund.

Threats like this ebay calls extortion and cleared up both feedbacks. When I contacted ebay I was told it was just part of doing business and even good sellers get negatives I pushed ebay until I got the ebay reps to read the messages and it was only then that I got help.

I suggest you push ebay reps to read the messages, and if you don't get relief then push for another rep.

Lastly take care how you respond to your buyers so you have the best chance to defend yourself with ebay. Mike

Definitely CALL Ebay. The only help I have received from them regarding feedback has been when I called and spoke with a human. I have had said humans remove negative feedback twice...

As the Seller you can ONLY leave Positive Feed Back with a Positive comment
If you do the green donut with a Negative comment the Buyer can have it removed and eBay will slap you with a policy violation

You can leave almost any comment in reply to his Negative Feed back / comment for you

Wow, I must lead a charmed ebay life. I've never had buyer freak out that bad although I've had a couple of dudes get pissy (out of maybe a hundred) with their wildlife feathers they bought from me. One guy thought he was getting professionally tanned pheasant skins instead of just borax dried and I tried to explain that I wasn't making much more than a Mexican street vendor per skin and he's not going to get that kind of quality for less than $2 a skin. He calmed down a bit and excepted them and I added to my general description that these bird skins aren't professionally tanned. Another guy got miffed that his dried spread out wild turkey fan got ruffled up in the box (has a lot of void spaces that I pack with balled up plastic grocery sacks). Again, it wasn't like he was paying high dollar for the fan and could have re-worked the feathers a bit to smooth them out. Finally, I got mad, told him he was a PIA and gave him his money back. Never heard another word. Had a couple of thieves (either actually themselves or real thieves) from Hawaii but that's another matter.

JOHnC4x4- pardon my naivety, but what's a "drop shipper"??

P.S. But out of probably 700+ deals on ebay, I've only had about 10 or so that have gone bad (at least that I found out about)...

Someone who uses a drop shipper advertises a product for a price and when it sells, he finds the item for less and buys it and has the person he buys from send it to the person who bought from him.

Alibaba is a well known drop shipping organization.
