ebay restricting magnet sales now :(

I just tried to re-list a small lot of hd magnets and got this message from ebay... sure glad big gov' is looking out for us

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is currently conducting an investigation of magnet ball products due to serious health and safety concerns if the items are swallowed. As part of this investigation, the CPSC has requested that eBay prohibit these sales and we are complying with their request. Please do not list these items, as they will be removed. For more information about this issue, see this press release from the CPSC - http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PREREL/prhtml12/12037.html.

just another unintended consequence from our brilliant do gooder regulators and overseers. the list is endless and getting bigger every day. most have never seen a HD magnet and have no idea what it is.

back when I was in the concession business. I owned a hot dog stand, among the concession stands. I wanted to serve fried bologna sandwiches (very popular down here) along with various hot dogs. The Florida department of business regulation would not let me, even though the FDA considers hot dogs and Bologna the very same meat with the very same recipe. I fought it for over a year and finally just got rid of the cart. just one more small business they don'tt have to contend with or collect taxes from.

    BONUS: TWO SLICES OF BREAD
LIGHTLY BUTTER ONE SIDE OF EACH.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF ONE LIBERALLY SPREAD PEANUT BUTTER

LAY THE OTHER SIDE ON THE GRILL OR SKILLIT BUTTER SIDE DOWN.

ADD SLICED CHEESE ONE THICK OR TWO THIN SLICES OF BOLOGNA

    ADD LAYER OF POTATO CHIPS

    ADD LAYER OF DILL PICKLES

    (OPTIONAL) CRIS PBACON

ADD PEANUT BUTTERED SLICE OF BREAD BUTTER SIDE UP

    TURN WHEN BROWNED.

We sold thousands of these at state fairs. enjoy.

Call me a jerk, but if you are dumb enough to swallow something like this, you deserve what you get. If you can't keep an eye on your 2 year old long enough to stop them from eating one, you are a bad parent.

I would try and relist them. I see several lots that have been listed just as of today. Just a fluke that yours got caught up in the dragnet. May have used some key word in your listing that flagged it.

"Neodymium Rare Earth Super magnets with brackets" ...... still not allowing me to list. I better have a look at the recent listings and see what word/words I can omit..

That's crazy. If you swallow tacks you'll get hurt too, you can still buy those on Ebay. I find it funny that the government (or anyone) is restricting the sales of an item because "you're not supposed to eat it, and people are eating it". Lol that is honestly absurd.

If 15 people a year start swallowing dish washer packets and getting sick or dying, will they stop selling those too?

I would assume that it is something in the description.

I use turbo lister for listing stuff. It is great.
