    Experiences Shipping Fedex through ebay?

I was wondering if anyone uses the option to ship through fedex that ebay provides. I have read in the ebay forums that a lot of problems have arisen from this because you're basically shipping through ebay's fedex account. From impossible to file insurance claims to added shipping charges at a later date. How has it gone for you?

No problems here either, I decided to try it out when they did away with the parcel post option and upped the rates. I haven't had to file any claims on anything, so I can't provide feedback on that, but otherwise I think I should have done it sooner. Much better rates for the heavier/big stuff and faster delivery.

I use my regular one too. Just sign up for fedex, com for free, add a card, and ya set. Automatic 11% discount for signing up. And the great thing is you can dispute the charges on fedex and they might knock it down. Also the claims are easy as pie when you own the FedEx account.

I use FedEx and have tried it through ebay, but i find it lacking.

For now I stick with using my regular FedEx account to ship with too; as I cannot print labels clearly with ebay. Also, the labels are different when you print with ebay it goes through Pitney Bowes, so you probably have to deal with that company if you have any problems.

I had one claim with the regular FedEx account and it was easy to accomplish, just had to wait a couple of weeks for the check.

I never used Fedex before finding it as an option on ebay, I have used it twice, both times with bad experiences. The first time I shipped a package out of state and it arrived badly damaged, so I filed a claim with Fedex and they denied it claiming that it was not properly packaged. so I was out $40 shipping plus the cost of the package which was valued at $200. I knew at that point that I shouldn't use them again, but they were cheaper than UPS (now I know why) so I did. I printed out the shipping label from ebay shipping which I pre measured and weighed the package at 68.9 lbs and 57x18x18 dropped it off at the fedex. Well... the package arrived undamaged due to me double boxing and putting foam cushions inside to withstand them dropping it from the top of their building, stabbing it with a forklift, playing toss across, or whatever it is that they do with their packages to damage them. I thought great...that is until I got my monthly invoice from ebay with the fedex charge on it. My package miraculously went from 57x18x18 to 59x23x19 and from 68.9 lbs to a billing weight of 163 lbs for a cost of $136 from the 55.76 originally quoted at the time I printed the label. What are the chances of 2 bad experiences back to back? OH and when you use Fedex through ebay it is difficult to file claims as you are bisically using ebays fedex account and when you go to file a claim in your name they say that you arent the shipper and that ebay is and you will not be able to know any details of the claim, very bad business practices of ebay and Fedex. I will not ever use Fedex again and suggest that noone else does either unless you want your packages damaged or have alot of money to give away at the end of the month. Fedex is shady and they know it hence the reason I couldnt talk to anyone in person when trying to file the claim. I went to fedex and the place was surrounded with a 10 foot fence and guarded by a guard in the guard shack. DO NOT USE FEDEX OR EBAY SHIPPING!!!

I only use UPS when I have stuff that goes out of the country...they are the ONLY ones (and I spoke with USPS, FexEd and UPS) that can track DOOR to DOOR in most countries...trust me it matters when someone claimed they didn't get the unlocked iphone I sent them in Russia...guess what, I lost out on the $200 or so because USPS doesn't track once it leaves the US borders...keep that in mind if you ship overseas at all.

I have used the FedEx option to ship on e-bay. I am more comfortable with a clain with FedEx than I am with USPS. It has also been my experience that FedEx takes a little more care withe the packages the the post office.I have made a couple claims and they seemed to be handled fairly.

always use your own account, then you don't have to rely on the service of a 3rd party. only time i ever print labels thru ebay is when i ship USPS. And that's only because stamps.com pisses me off.

i am getting ready to use fed ex through ebay for the first time....as mentioned above the new changes to usps parcel post have almost stopped me from selling heavy items on ebay...well i got some cool things pileing up and i am going to list them in the next few days....my only problem is i will have to do it through ebay....i do not have a credit card, and as far as i know you have to have one to start your own fed ex account

i have made a lot of money selling stuff online in the last year or two,,,as much as i hate to do it i think i may have to break down and start a bank account and get a credit card....i was able to start ebay without starting a bank account or getting a card but there are a few other sites ive wanted to start selling on that require a credit card or bank account..

I normally ship USPS, but I had a customer return something, and eBay uses USPS through UPS. So they returned it, with the wrong address on the return label. So ups just delivered it to some random house 2 towns over from me. Ups just left it on their porch. So I open a claim through eBay and ups. I'm told by UPS that it's Ebays account, and that all claims must come through them. I contacted eBay several times and never got anything. I had to contact UPS and demand they tell me the address where it was delivered, and had to go talk to the home owner to get my package back.
