i've torn up a few, some have gold plated contacts, some dont. either way, i will scrap the board, but the grades vary severely from one to the next. scrap the planet.... no literally, the molten iron core of the earth is kinda heavy, lets scrap it!

I hit mine on the side with a hammer. Plasic splits, boards are 9 times outta 10 low grade. Won't go outta my way to get a remote. Alotta people that I get tvs from want to keep the remotes as backups.

Hit them with a hammer and just toss in the low grade boards unless its one of the new computer remotes that control the whole house. Ive gotten 2 and both were high grade.

There may be silver on the board where the switch contacts are. Black/grey lines like the ones on PCB's.

I was given a whole garbage can full of remotes. I broke about 20 of them today, found 1 IC chip, no gold finger print, did find some that eesakiwi talked about. Are these still low grade, I just threw them in with the low grade boards.
