a small piece of brass on a bicycle

if you come across a lot of bicycles, snip off the brass valve off the innertube

also lots of brake levers are made of aluminum. smash off with a hammer, or bend off with the end of a closed loop wrench

platform pedals are made of aluminum, but removing the steel spindle inside requires popping off a plastic end cap and removing a bolt with the right size socket

lots of seatpost are also aluminum and can be removed with via quick release but you need an allenwrench to remove the seat

those are the only easy-to-get crap off a bike i can think of atm

    collecting san joses scrap

wait, about the pedal... sawzall off the spindle from the cranks and smash it through the plastic-end-cap side

also a lot of cranks are also aluminum so you could saw off the crank spindle and pedal spindles also

most brakes are alum, and check the wheels. If you cant break it down compleate just cut it off and throw it in your dirty alum pile

I save the cranks, they are Ali.
Theres brass brake shoes in the rear wheel center & often the wheel rims are Ali too.

I use a angle grinder & cut thru the spokes, wear safety gear here as the spokes start to jump around due to the grinder & tension on the spokes.
Sometimes the spoke ends are brass too.

Not a lot of metal, but it all adds up.

I'm making a bicycle tow trailer from old bike wheels at the moment, I will keep you informed.
