Stainless Steel side by side Refridgerator

Picked it up last night, along with a stand up freezer which I am keeping, so I broke the fridge down, this is what I got. (I also only took the fridge to the scrap yard, so this is the approx value of it.)



350ish lb - mixed scrap
27 lbs - 304 Stainless
27 lbs - A/C compressor

The above came to $55.29

I removed about 10 or 15 lbs of foam from the doors while cleaning the stainless.
Also did not turn in the copper tubing, or insulated wire. So guesstimate to be about $60 total.

Not too shabby for a fridge.

I remember going to the scrap yard one time, and saw a stainless steel refrigerator door over near the non ferrous building. I asked a worker, if they took them, and he told me yes, but I had to rip all the plastic off etc. I looked at him like he was stupid, especially since I just seen one over there, that had the plastic and everything on it!

^^^He was probably telling you if you want to be paid top dollar, you need to break it down or strip it, otherwise they are going to pay you dirty price. Dirty non-ferrous is usually kept with the other non-ferrous till one of the employees can strip it.
