right on the stainless but it is negligable, some of the screws holding the monitor to the front frame are brass.

they are its called the dismantiling break down thread . and it was posted so every one can make up their mind wether it is worth it to them or not. different strokes for different folks.

My trash man will take 4 a week if and when I do them. So an extra 20 bucks a week is worth it to me as a part timer. Specialy since it dont take that long to break down.

!. I didnt list it as $6.00 profit. 2. I stack them in gaylord boxes, when I get a truck full I have 2 companys that will pick them up. 3. I hope by then I will be able to recycle them myself. 4. The post was ment as a guide to help people decide wether or not they want to take them in or not which I thought would be a helpfull tool to some to help them decide, I didn't advocate either way. I do not advocate crts ending up in land fills or vacant lots or ditches along country roads. I do advocate warning then if necessry turning in any one who does such a thing. I wish there was a company here in denver that would buy them or just pick them up. either of the companies you use nation wide oldude? If so could you Pm me some contact info? I would definitly start gaylording them in my garage if I had to if I had a place to get rid of them other then the trashman. But seriously all the ones I get are from trash night so Im saving some of it from going to the dump anyway.

if your waste co will willingly and knowingly take them then they have a source.

Thank you for the informative results olddude. I have done the same for 7 monitors yesterday and my results at my country (Czech) with today (bad) copper prices are $3.18 - $7 per monitor. But I wanted to know the most interesting value - the time of scrapping. I have listed the biggest earners like - copper at yoke, degasing cable, the main-board (I see you haven't counted it in - I am able to sell it here for $0.23/lbs) and all the wires. I can strip these things in 20-30 minutes. If I start to scrap the aluminium heat sinks, or SS rings, the time goes up considerably, not worth my time.
Btw, the SS rings are sticking to my strong magnets lightly, is this normal for the SS?

If the companies are nation wide, everybody here would benefit from the information...

low graqde and mid grade boards also go in seperate boxes, right now they are not worth the shipping cost. hopefully I will also find a way to process them.

how about the abs plastic? I am looking into selling by the ton. I recently came across 250 computers whole systems and with my weekly intake of trash night harvesting and others steady scavenging I hope to reach that ton mark soon. I am looking for a buyer close by. Anyone have any information on that?
