Cast Iron tubs and sinks with porcelain coating.

Anyone every scrapped porcelain covered cast sinks or tubs? Is the porcelain an issue as far as weight goes? I have access to 3 tubs and a large sink. I will make sure I check the value of the tubs first but I don't think any are the desirable old claw foots.
    Thanks,
    hwstem

Yes. The porcelain makes cast iron worth the same as Light Iron (Shred).
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I get cast iron price for any tub or sink with porcelain, you can try and talk with the owner about it.

All bath tubs have resail value. If you live out in the conutry, people use them to water thiere live stock. They can be used for many diffrant things. At the yards I use porcelain dosn't matter.

you may check resale on the sink, even the non claw foot tubs have resale value, if you thumb though country living or some magizine like that they seem to be hot right now, you may check to see if there is any building salvage companies around you like this

I've got a call in to one of my customers from my 'other' business who has a smashed-to-pieces porcelain-coated cast iron tub in her driveway, along with some other choice scrap from an ongoing remodel. I'm betting the contractors are taking it, but if I do get it I'll post results of when I take it to the yard.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll take a look at them before I scrap them. They were used for livestock waterers. Money is money, I'll haul them in and see what I get.

The antique shops here won't take them said they had no resale value. My yard takes them as cast with the porcelain. About a month ago took in two tubs and a double sink. Just under 2500 pounds. At 11 cents a pound not a bad trip

The weight should be engraved underneath the tub
