Hot dog, I love getting lucky!

I emailed a guy off craigslist that had a bunch of vinyl records. At first, I was going to get them and sell them for cash, as I know a place that buys them. Then I thought about my father in law, and since he just did a lot of work on my truck, I decided to give him all of them, as a way to say thanks, along with the cash that I owe.

So, anyways, I inform the guy that I have a pickup to do at a church in fairfax for scrap metal, and electronic recycling items, so I will be there late morning, or early afternoon tomorrow, then he emails me back, to inform me that would be great, and asks me this following question!

Would you like a box of electronic recyclables, too? Laptop computers, speakers, laptop batteries, wireless routers, etc.? If so, I will put it out as well, marked as such.
Never be afraid to explain anything to anyone (in this case, I was explaining the reason why I wouldnt be there till tomorrow afternoon), as sometimes it does pay off!

I do get told that I am a jabber mouth, but like I tell everyone, it comes in handy!

Thats the way to do it George. Don't be afraid to open your mouth and tell people what you do. If I see something at the curb on garbage day I always go to the door and ask if I can have it, many times it will leed to getting something out of the back yard. Way to go, keep up the good work.

As people know from reading this thread, tomorrow I am picking up over 200 vinyl records.

I was thinking, and did a search on ebay.com for vinyl records, then searched completed listings.

Some of them sold for more than what I thought people would actually pay for the things.

Then I got to wondering if I should hold onto them for a few days to see what I might get by doing some research, or just simply sell them to a shop 30 minutes from me.

With the shop, I know I will definitely get paid cash for them.

What are your thoughts on it?

The last foreclosure that I did, gave me I believe around 3 medium boxes of vinyl records.

At the time, I didn't know what to do with them, but I really didn't want to toss them into the landfill. The people trashed the hell out of the house, but the records were in real good condition.

I asked my father in law, if he knew of anyone, because he is really into music, plus he knows a lot of old timers (car clubs he belongs too etc).

He said, he would take them, so that solved that for me.

Unfortunately, this is over 200, and my mother in law would kill me, if I brought them ALL there.

I think I will take the weekend to search ebay and see what I can come up with. Never know, might get lucky on some.

Or get in food with the store owner and maybe he will be honist with you when you actualy come across a rare one. A good constant place to sell them without fees like ebay aint always bad either but might not be the most profitable one is all.

The place here that buys them is called 2nd & Charles.

Only draw back is, they will only accept 140 records at a time. So, I can drop off that many, and they do a 24 hour turn around, so when I would go pick up the cash, then I turn the rest in lol.

I may or may not ebay search all of them, but I will do some, to see if I can better off myself on there.
