Thumbs down The dumbest thing i ever saw

i was searching around craigslist "free" ads cause i usually do pretty good there when i stumble across an ad that says "free scrap metal removal minimum 1000 pounds'' when i click on the ad it reads that the metal must be aluminum or copper. even people who dont know what its worth isnt gonna give away a thousand pounds of metal. within minutes the ad was flagged off, serves him right for being so stupid

Those are usually ones who do not have anything to give away, all they are doing is harvesting email address from people who answer it so they can either send spam or sell the addresses to spammers. They are getting very bad on craigslist, especially in the free section, and craigslist is not even attempting to do anything about it.

I post dozens of adds on Craigslist for things I sell and I would strongly recommend taking the email option out for anyone that posts. The only option to get a hold of me is my phone number, I rarely get unwanted calls and texts and it eliminates 100% of the spam emails.

    I agree with KZBell.

My ads are ads that I created using either Microsoft Publisher or Adobe Photoshop, and hosted with photobucket.net.

Then when I take the html code, i just edit the first url, so it points to my website.

It has my emails and phone numbers, but I never get unwanted solicitations.

I have a "throw-away" email address just for CL so my main account doesn't get any spam. Most of the spam just goes right to the spam box, which I don't even bother checking.

The dumbest thing I've seen in awhile is that guy in the other thread that totaled his truck when his tractor RAN over it. LOLhehe
The #2 dumbest was the idiot that got stopped not once but twice for unsafe loads and got his and his buddies truck both impounded!!

    Or This one,,,

You are right, I misread it. Needless to say I would imagine he does not get any contacts.

I'd read that twice already and it still didn't sink in that this guy was saying he'd only take a MINIMUM of 1,000 pounds. I guess the mind was trying to protect me by filtering out foolishness.

"Hey, mister, come over here. I've got $3000 of copper I want you to get rid of for me"
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

haha. What a tool. Not just anyone has 1,000 lbs of aluminum or copper. If they do, they know what they're doing and what it is worth.

    Sounds a bit like entitlement.
