    Sunday Trash Run

It was a real slow start ended up with only 3 cords in the first 30 mins or so. So we end up running a development we don't usually run and ended up just from that stop with about 300lbs of light iron, about 20lbs of low grade wire, 3 printers, 120' of 10/3 uf-b 600v Romex with a ground wire. We also picked up 10 50' ext. cords with some xmas lights. So I guess tonight ended with a bang.

**Got the truck back, the u-joint was $173. I forgot, last time I had a tie-rod replaced with a few other odds and ends.

Sounds like a good run just in time for the holidays.

It's been rough the last few Sundays, CL saved me for the last 3 weeks. Today was definitely worth an 1/8 tank of gas lol. I'm holding onto copper until March when the price jumps hopefully. I have about 3 18 gallon totes of #1 and another one of bare bright that's not quite full yet. I've been out of work for about a year, stopped at a friends house to pick up some steel and his friend was there and offered me a job working at a Dunkin' Donuts warehouse starting at $11hr and going to $19hr after 2 weeks. So for me it was a REALLY great day.

Nothing feels better than being thanked with a money. Congrats on the new job. Sometimes I think those who find themselves out of work tend to give up. You kept productive scraping I wonder if this helps with possibilities later. By that I mean others look at you and say if he's willing to scrap then he/she could be a great employee. Best to you and thanks for an uplifting thread, Mike.

Thanks all! I would love to do this full time but there's so much competition and I think I got in waaayyyy to late I've called about every mechanic and computer shop, ect and every place I've called already has some one picking up and a lot of people are paying for what they get. I had somebody call me for the trailer I just bought 3 months ago so well see how that goes. I don't mind the part time gig at all and it keeps me pretty busy. I'm still gonna do my CL adds hand out business cards to drum up some stuff on my days off. I have about 3 weeks until I start so I might do a storage auction or two to see what's out there.

Yes they do. It's about all I drink anyway. lol I'm sorry to say this but I don't understand how Starbucks is so popular, I think their coffee is way to strong and over priced. But that's just me.

The best thing was out of that was I had the truck stacked with fridges and freezers and a few towers. I know Mark (The person I was picking stuff up from) will put in a good word for me considering I've known him all my life.

Stripped the 10-3 wire with a ground came out to 21.63 lbs of BB. The Ext. cords stripped came out to 29.86 lbs stripped, 2 of them were heavy commercial cords had 14 gauge with a ground. Insulated was 16.72 lbs and light Iron was 380lbs, was close with the guesstimate. So LI was $48.45. which they round so $49. Insulated was $17. So if I hold out until I can get $4/lb for BB and #1 will be around 3.70 or so that was about a $300 stop.
