this is what it realy all about

we are in a tough business, and now and then we all take lumps hard to swallow. I took a big one this week , a real kick in the gut. high balled by the big competetor in town. a trick he uses often, but I just cant bring my self to resort to that kind of moral decay running rampent in our county. sooo when things get tough I click this link on my favorites and am reminded of what it is all really about. enjoy .

Well old dude if there is anything you need help with...give me a buzz...I maybe able to help you with that issue...I deal with it daily here an sometimes it means war...an you have to get alittle dirty.

When a honest man tries to make a living an someone plays dirty...Step up to the plant an let them know they cant do that to you. Its the only way you will stick around...I have had to do a few times now.

thanks guys but its no big deal just the way business is done today. lost my copper load, the vulture in town high balled the guy at 2.85 a # for insulated #2 when Im at $1.20 I tried to tell my customer he was getting scamed, but he took the load in any way, and of course was offered .75 per lb. hen he went to leave they asked how much I offered, and he told them, they of course paid the $1.20. A typical car lot high ball bate and switch. I just dont need money bad enough to do business that way.

I'm just curious how the vulture got wind about the deal with your customer? Someone let something out out of the bag? Remember the old saying "loose lips sink ships"? Sorry for your loss tho.

    some interesting responses here

typical cross section of responces here, some from yard owners and some from little independents is my guess.

yup you are right I was counting my ducks and spending the money before the action. guilty. as charged.

the customer called the yard. one of only two in town. one is a non feris yard.

this is a small town much smaller minded then its population indicates.

the customer pitted me against the yard, no problem with that.

the problem is the yard quoted a price they knew was a lie, or do you condone this practice. $1.20 a lb versus $2.85 a pound.

I guess we have come to the point all is fair in love and war, and in America. how sad.

compitition is one thingout right lies and fraud is another. just my .02

any way its over on to the next one.
