Better keep it. You might find a use for it someday.

I've never found any strange items, but I have scrapped some stuff that was very, very expensive when new. I have a friend who is a manager at a facility that uses some extremely expensive equipment. When they fail or need to be replaced, these items cannot be resold, rebuilt and their only value is scrap. It's strange getting 10 bucks for something that orginally sold for $12k.

Not strange, but just surprised at what people toss on the trash. I found a perfectly fine 17" flat screen tv in a dumpster.

I have to wonder if some of these electronics that are still good are being tossed out by pi$$ed off girlfriends (or boyfriends.)

@gettin loaded, I think more dollars than sense is the case sume times. Once I pulled rca stereo receiver, dvd player, and vcr all from the same can. None worked, but when I took them apart they all had the same types of wires disconnected, hooked em back up and they all worked fine...almost like they had been pulled out on purpose so they wouldn't work ...

Why bring that trash into your home, maybe the guy who tossed it finally woke.

I've had pretty good luck over the years. All of my electronics are second or third hand. Picked up a nice 72" lcd and all it needed was a new power board. Thirty dollars spent, as opposed to over 600.00$ when it was purchased new. Pretty good value for the money.
