How's everyone doing? An unexpected set of scores the last few days.

Hey everybody, hope everyone is well - sorry for the delayed post - been super busy on my end.

Anyways I thought I'd share with you all that I recently decided to just go for it and start my own business with whatever resources I had - limited cash, some gas in my SUV and just a passion for this stuff.

Anyways, I got a full car right now. I got about 4 or 5 flat screen TVs, a mini fridge, two window AC units, a microwave and some steel. Not to mention I have some lingering stuff outside that I can plow through, as well as in my house/attic.

So we will see - no idea how much these recent efforts will net me but I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Anyways - How's everyone else out there doing with their scrapping efforts? Plowing along? Any recent scores?

Maybe, I'll decide to take photos the next few days too.

Anyways, aside from that, I do have a question - what do you all do with all your e waste/electronic scrap/circuit boards and such? Do you have someone who takes it? What are some of the prices you get?

That's been a recent challenge for me recently - no one near me takes it that offers a decent price. I've been sitting on about 20 lbs or so of circuit boards that I'm just waiting to sell if I have the right buyer.

Anyways, hope everyone is well and keep scrappin!

Lol ... there's been no rest for the wicked this summer. Been scrapping in addition to my regular job. There's been enough coming in to keep me working seven days a week. The e-waste has been gradually dropping off over the last 5 years or so. It's to a point now where it's just a trickle in comparison to what it used to be. It's mostly bubbleback tv's & flatscreen tv's there days. I might see a laptop or desktop every month or so.

You might want to run the numbers with the flatscreens to see if they are worth doing. There's quite a bit of bulk, but actually very little in the way of circuit board weight for all the time invested.

One thing you could do is stockpile mid grade high or better circuit boards until you have accumulated a few hundred pounds and then talk to one of the e-waste buyers that advertises here. Shipping costs will probably take a bite of 60 - 90 cents a pound but you can still make a little bit after deducting expenses. (Shipping costs drop significantly if you can ship 1000 lb gaylords full of boards at a time.)

It's like most everything else with scrapping. It's a volume business and the margins of profit are very thin. If you only do a little bit here and there .... you probably won't make enough to even pay for gas.

If you can plow through tons of the stuff .... you might scratch out a little bit of coin as long as you work quickly and efficiently.
