I'm still breathing but out in zombie land...

    Hi!

I got an e-mail today that someone tried to message me but my inbox was full. I'm embarrassed to say that I've been off SMF for a good while, just sort of fell out of checking things out as other things shifted in life. I don't scrap as much as I once did, even though the prices are up around here. When covid started, my full-time benefits job sent us almost all of us home to work from there because it can mostly be done through getting on-line. We still haven't returned but they think "soonly" but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm also a "resister" in certain "you must..." aspects so that issue is unsettled. My plan was to give them 4 more years and then flip the double bird, but we'll see how that plays out.

I'm sure SMF has taken casualties from covid, both members and member's families. I'm sure there has been plenty of heartbreak. But if a group of people can preserver, its SMF members. What some of you guys can do is truly amazing. God bless you all, now and forever. Take care..."DakotaRog"

Scrap buys beer for me, so that quote works the way you changed it!

    Hi Roger,
That would be me . Just wanted to send a PM about things we discussed a while ago .I was reading some of my old messages.
Hang in there , working from home gave me more flexibility to work on my escrap etc. (less time on the road travelling to and from work)
I'm looking at about 3 more years before I flip the bird also . Hopes our health hold out so we can enjoy it !
Happy New Year to all the forum members ...........
Remember... wherever you go... there you are

Glad to hear you are still alive and kicking.

When Covid hit, my company sent me to work from home as well. Since the company only employs four individuals, it was an easy decision. We use to have five employees, but two died and we hired another. The two Labs that passed away were dedicated employees and were replaced with a Blue Healer. The company decided to require employees to get vaccinated so the remaining four employees protested.

All hell broke loose at the corporate meeting, but calmer minds prevailed. Our annual meetings are held on Christmas Eve. Everyone is in a better mood at this time of year. It helps when the meeting is held in front of the fireplace in my living room. Three items of business were on the agenda. First we decided to cut back on hours of operation, from six months to three months. It was a unanimous vote because hunting, fishing, backpacking and the horses were taking up to much time. The second issue involved vaccinations. Bandit, me, myself, and I won so we are back in business. The third item was an attempt to fire me, but I was hired back within minutes. It is assumed all employees have antibodies because we have not gotten covid even after the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Moral of the story, stick to your guns, it is your right.

It might be appropriate to highlight I, me, and myself retired from public education 11 years ago. Since then we have been scrapping full time. No double birds, just a thank you for the freedom. Retiring at 52 provided plenty of time to decide what I wanted to do when I grew up.

It is all about attitude and gratitude. Happy New Years to all and may your best year be in front of you.

Ohh ... but the crazy people are such fun.

I've discovered a new hobby that's so much more entertaining than scrapping. First ... you get em' so spun up that they don't know whether to $hit or go blind. Next ... you bend em' over the table and rim rack them with reason & logic. Not with conspiracy stuff mind you ... but with hard facts and solid results.

So ... you thought that getting everybody vaccinated was going to end the pandemic. How did THAT work out for you ?

Ohh ... i see ... your plan didn't work out and it's all your selfish neighbor's fault for not vaxxing & wearing a mask. You wanna pass a new mandate law ? What about the other 4 billion people in the world for whom the vaccine isn't even available ?

It's a patient, step by step, methodical process, but you can gradually make all of the crazies go crawl back under their rock by showing them that they aren't going to get their way.

Man plans ... G-d laughs at all of us.
