    Fun With Some Copper Pipe

I work in a shop complex where several business rent out warehouse spaces. One of the larger companies that is currently occupying 15,000 SF in one of the warehouses needed more space so they bought a bigger building elsewhere. The owner of the company that moved heard I did a lot with metal recycling. He told me he had some pipe for free that he didn't want to take with. Imagine my surprise to find out that the "some pipe" was over 200 pounds of new copper pipe pieces. Most of it is 8 foot sections with another several 2-4 foot pieces. Not a bad way to start the weekend!

Are you going to try and resell that or scrap it?
    Better than the dump!

    Definitely a nice score !

Hard to tell for sure, but it looks like it's mostly 3/4" type L. ?

It sells new for 1.70 per lineal foot. (Maybe a little more depending on where you buy it.)

It generally weighs .45 lbs per foot. Figure a #1 copper scrap price of 2.00$ a pound and it works out to roughly 90 cents a foot that way.

I am planning to resell most of it. I've found that the yards around here don't have very good prices for copper. The smaller pieces (3' or less) I'll just set aside until prices go up a little.
