Scrap Metal Yards in Southern Jersey

Hi everyone. Im a new member here to the forum but have been lurking for the last 3 years. I have been scrapping for the last 18 years, mainly aluminum for the first 8 then after we purchased a house and had more space decided to get into other nonferrous metals and light iron. Unfortunately as of recently the yards around us started being lower in price than other yards, like Rockaway Recycling, in New Jersey.

As of recently I have had a change of lifestyle that took away most, if not all, of my scrap source. The company I worked for for 20 years closed its doors. I was contacted by a manufacturing company, had an interview, and 2 days after I was unemployed, was in the orientation room for my new job with better pay and benefits.

For the last 30 years we have been vacationing on and off in the southern tip of New Jersey, Cape May. Being the swivel head that I am, I always kept an eye open for other Partners In Scrap on our way down and back. I cant say I saw too many loads being hauled in or around, but being the area that it is, there must be a yard somewhere.

I was hoping someone could tell me if there are any scrap yards in the Mullica Hill area, or along Rt347, Rt47, Rt55, or Rt9. I have a small stash of nonferrous that I would like to get a better price for, and maybe in the process get some extra cash for our vacation.

Thanks for any help in advance!
    Frank Y

Simms Metal Management is the only one in that area that I am familiar with. I have always gotten better than average prices from them because of the transportation infrastructure they have established.
Give back more to this world than we take.

They are located in Sewell, NJ. I am not familiar enough with the state to know distances but based on the distances I haul, I assume it would be a hop, skip, and jump for you. Here is their web site.

Hey FrankY... I used Matteos in West Deptford for years. Super Clean Yard, good prices, good workers. I moved further south of Mullica Hill and now use Giordano's strictly for steel and Cumberland Recyclers Just off Rt 47 in Millville. Again Good guys there, good prices. Hope it helps.

Thanks Patriot76 and NJSouth for that information. We are going that way at the end of July during our shutdown so will check their prices before we leave. The one in Sewell is slightly out of the normal route but doesnt look that far out. I know we pass right by Millville, but will check them all out. Just need to decide what metals I will take, as to what will fit with everyone in the vehicle. I figure if I take 100lb of something it would be worth it if the price is better.
