Yep, towns differ.

My sandbar is just how Greytruck described his. If I curb shop an hit all the towns...it's at lest 5. Only thing that separates them is the sign that says now entering/leaving. lol. Trash days vary also, which adds to the fun. Toss in Summer and Winter times and it gets even more fun.

During the summer you get lots of can's an some other good stuff on the curb if the home owners come down. Renters just leave cans, maybe a grill a couple beach chairs, etc.

Winter time though...everyone is prepping for the coming season, doing repairs from storms/tourists, etc So get a lot more stuff on the curb. We also have 2 "big trash" days per year for each town. Usually when you'll see me at the curb grabbing stuff. That's when the fridges and other appliances get tossed, tvs, computers, various metal items, various electronics, etc.

I think Auminer has a thread somewhere about the areas he hits. If I recall properly he finds some pretty good stuff in higher income areas he hits up.

One thing I've noticed with "rich", "poor", etc type areas...Things you get from teh curb in rich areas will usually be in good working condition, or if broken, something simple to fix. Usually is the key word here. In the lower income ones...you find lots of stuff, but it's usually either used very well before being tossed, beyond repair, etc.

Higher end communities can just toss things an go buy new ones. The lower end tends to use what they have till they can't, or they fix it til they can't. I've seen it from cars and computers to vacuums and washers.

Just observations from my time shopping from the curb. Don't let a neighborhood scare you off til you know it's routine. Trash days, general income range, etc, etc. Sounds silly but eh, works for me.
