How often do you find bare bright copper that doesn't need to be stripped at all. I only found a small amount recently (2.3 ounces that is worth 25-30 cents or so at today's prices), but it got me to thinking about how often I see bare bright in the wild. The answer, for me, is almost never- even in such small quantities.

The place I found the bare bright was in a dumpster in the parking lot of a retailer that sells lighting.

I did also find about 4-5 pounds of copper wire that was inside aluminum (MLC) flexible electrical conduit in the same dumpster.

Of course I won't get rich from this find, but it just got me to thinking about how difficult it is to find bare bright.

How often do you find it and where do you find it when you do?
