That Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer looks to have a round slab of metal with pipe connections to it. Thats the sort of part that has been pointed out to me as either being heavy Gold plated or just plain Gold.

When I first figured this out a few years ago. The PTC machines were starting to sell second hand thru auctions.
Might get one for $50-$150. Original price.. hmmmmm. $3000-$8000. Before gold went 'High' circa year 2000+2
Studious investigation into manuals would show which units were solid Gold blocks & which were Gold plated solid Silver.
The last time I looked at auctions, a lot were missing the blocks.
This is the other 'Holy grail'

Hey thanks for the tip. I'm not the one who buys the medical stuff that auction but I do get all the non-working stuff from a friend of mine who buys it. I wasn't even thinking about precious metals in this stuff. I'll definitely have to do some research and keep my eye out for suspicious looking metals
