    Scrapping Hard Drives/cd/dvd drives?

So I have been reading up on how to scrap harddrives but I am wondering what exactly can i scrap from these things? Should i just sell them for .30/lb or is it worth it to take it apart?

Also same thing with the cd/dvd drives. I have just as many of those as i do harddrives.

    Thanks guys!

On the hard drives you take the top off, that's usually stainless, the round platters have a little platinum on them, the magnet(like it says in the article) is a rare earth magnet, and the cast aluminum bottom half of the shell. REREAD the posting you listed, it pretty well spells it out. The boards are usually sold as lo or medium grade boards. It takes quite a few to make a big payday, but it all pays better than mixed scrap.

Move to Houston, please? haha. I hate taking those drives apart. I've got a stack of about 50 piled up as of right now.
