    copper will take a hit

    Years ago Copper's use took a hit with Pex Pipe
    Next is

    Graphene has been talked about for years but has never really culminated in much of anything widely available at this point. I doubt any significant disruption will occur in our days of scrapping.

    In the article I notice the proposed uses seem to only include weight sensitive products, aircraft, automobiles and space craft. These uses can easily justify higher costs of the new wire. Included with the new wire there will be new connectors and other electronic changes that may need to be made.

    The last numbers I saw, graphene was more than twice as expensive as gold. Granted the price is dropping, but it's got a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to have any measurable effect on copper use.
