    Stolen trailer

Welp...my trailer was stolen with material on it. Not totally earth shattering, I carry exceptionally good insurance and there are a few lines on a series of thefts that have gone on over the last month or so involving trailers and four wheelers. At this time I do not think the trailer was specifically targeted although anything is possible.

Nobody's material was on that trailer, we don't operate that way (thank god).

So what's the lesson? Pretty much like this, whoever took it, stole it because they prefer to ignore what they probably know about that trailer. That a small business owned it and that it would DEFINITELY be missed and needed. Right on all counts. My hand being forced into a bigger trailer doesn't make me a happy camper whatsoever. I am aware that some people will read this having been younger less lawful men who may have done a few things in their days. I myself crawled out of that category many years ago. It was a humbling moment to have hardship of a different sort hit me where it hurts. I might have been a little complacent, but it had a lock, we had cameras and still nothing to be done without a gps on the trailer. The next will have a gps built into the frame somewhere.

I'm not specifically mad about it, there are deterrents I should have done but did not out of my own complacency. We like to say "The blame is with the criminal" And while I agree with that, we are the ones who provide a criminal with opportunity. And because of that, I'm not as upset, it was a lesson learned.

That sucks and hard. I don't suppose you can count on any of the local yards to tell you if they see your trailer and/or your material roll in over the scales, can you?

    DANGIT.

A friend on another forum had his trailer stolen on Thursday, too. Right out of his driveway, cutting the chain looped through the wheels, AND the trailer hitch lock, without alerting his dog. Not sure how they managed that.
