    Craigslist for the win again!

Hi all! Woke up and checked out Craigslist this morning and saw this lovely ad in the Free section.

And since I speak Spanish just as bad as I do English rang the number in the ad and....

Several telecom switches, servers, UPS and more plus a box full of server hard drives and RAM. What I've plugged in so far powers up. Happy with this pick-up for sure!

What a great haul for the free section. Just love to clean out a server room like that.

It was a fella's garage! Came from a construction job somehow and was just taking up space in his garage he wanted back.

Last time I tried to move a server rack without emptying it first didn't go so well for me. There were four BIG, HEAVY UPS's mounted in the top of it, along with a full load of servers. I slid my dolly under it, leaned back, and when it overbalanced, it shot my dolly out from under it, knocked me down, and landed on the sole of my boot. REALLY lucky it didn't hit my ankle or I might not be walking right now. As it is, I still feel it with every step over four years later. Probably will for life.

My foot bent the frame of the rack:

Nice routers in the last pic and nice lift gate on your truck.

You've got me checking out craigslist again.

YIKES! That's a gruesome turn! So sorry that happened to you! Never even considered the weight while pushing it (wouldn't have mattered this time as the bulk of the weight is in a VERY heavy piece of machinery at the bottom) but will in the future.

That's a server UPS... The one that fell on me had 4 of them mounted up top. LOTS heavier than a standalone UPS.

Being in a hurry rarely works out well when messing with scrapping!!!
