    must be good stuff!!

I saw this today on the "free" stuff of my local CL. It probably won't last long so I'll post the edited version here for your "amusement"...

To all of you looking for free scrap metal I have some but you have to take down and pull out ALL of the nails to get FREE scrap metal. As in you guys can have all the NAILS you pull from the wood. Otherwise you cheap a** f***ers need to PAY people for their s***!!!

    https://siouxfalls.craigslist.org/zi...225917837.html

I wish I could send a digital photon torpedo up into his computer and "make his day"!!!

It is ironic he wants "cheap ass fu(ker$" to do work for him for free.

It could be a scrapper who has had calls from people looking for this kind of work from him.... Either way, I see a **SNAP** moment.

I emailed him with my spam-filter email on yahoo... asked him when I could come get the nails. Everyone on this forum should do so... keep him running with spam!

The funny part is he is upset people won't pay for his nails.

He seems to be under the impression shred prices are still the same as they were at their high point a few years back.

I pay for a lot my material, an it's funny how many people think their "trash" is worth a bunch of loot. It's trash till someone wants to collect it off your curb.

An someone should tip dude off...if his **** is on the curb by the trash can it's fair game. I do believe it's even gone to court.

People like this amaze me. They assume everyone who scraps is a drug addict or some other kind of criminal.

    Ah well...life is to short.

Update: I was telling my friend about this cl post at work and he said it sounded like people from his "hometown"just across one of the state lines near here. When I expanded the map of the cl post, it ended up being near another small town only about 20 miles away from that "hometown". This part of that state and across the line into another state is populated by an European nationality/religious group that can be stereotypical self-righteous and penny-pinching (before anyone gets excited about "racism", these folks are no where included in typical groups that racism is practiced against). Anyway, this guy probably had some scrap job nobody would touch without them asking to get some kind of other payment as well. That's rare around here but I'm sure it happens. I suspect that this guy who posted this cl add is just another passive-aggressive chicken**** who thought that he could do his little rant and no one would pay any attention. Well, he was wrong! But, as its been stated already, time is too short on this earth to dwell much time on his twisted little mind. I'll say a prayer for him that God changes his heart and then move on. Have a good one!!

I had a guy get mad at me on FB because I profit from the cars I buy. He was saying that I was cheating the people I buy them from by not paying them what I get out of them. Some people are just clueless.

When I buy brass at a garage sale, many times I will be asked and I will tell them that I am going to take their brass to the scrap yard. I have had many responses from, "how much is brass worth?", to, "I'm not gonna sell to you because the piece is too nice to trash!" My favorite is, "Well, I can do that too!" to which I reply, "But you won't."

Glasses may be cool but I'd take Sony every day over Bono. I prefer his music, politics, that he didn't move to another country just to evade paying taxes. 73, Mike

And that's the key. The guy with the beat-up brass fireplace front that I saw sitting by his garage... the guy who was changing out his own pool heater and I asked him if I could have the old one... all sorts of people who COULD breakdown & properly sort their material, go to the scrapyard, open an account/get fingerprinted/wait for their cash for scrap ID/(Texas laws)

    But they won't.

agreed which we are not sure some are. but just because we like to pick easy things like taking cords off a sweeper/shop vac does not make one a drug addict/tweeker. it just means some like to get the things that are worth there time=)

Did it, done. Here is the text of the email I sent off (in case you want a chuckle)

Hi I am interested in the free nails you have offered on Craigslist. I could also use a good recommendation for a nearby hotel (if you would be so kind).

I think I may have enough air miles to get a free ticket to fly out there for a couple days. These are REAL nails, right? I would hate to find out I have wasted my time.

    I will await your reply
Copper, brass, and Leather. 3 of my favorite things.
