Never got the magnet, but I've got the claw 3 times. Once for a truck bed, once for the back right quarter or so of a car, and once for this piece of pig iron.
My full time is at a machine shop so obviously they handle 99% of their own scrap. But oddball stuff they don't wanna break down or that their scrap company doesn't accept goes to me. This guy is an old optical comparator from about the 40's. For those who dont know, basically you put a part on the table and a light makes a shadow which is magnified, typically 10 or 20x so it can be measured. Didn't get an exact weight on it, but based on how the truck sagged and handled on the road, I'd gander a guess somewhere between 6-800 lbs.
