Careful if they are the ones that have the electrical running through the desks. They are usually hard wired and not plugged in the wall. Some liabilities if you decide to have someone just go do it and get electrocuted. Have you considered renting out spaces for small business that need an office or do you really need all that space? Just some thoughts on it.

You should break down one and see how much steel is in one I have also heard some have aluminum frames. These guys are goanna charge you but you should know the value of what you have. Use your chairs and filing cabinets as a barging chip to get a better price. I would not even have them in the original bid. And please let us know how this went. Lots of times people post and never come back to share the details.

That's great information that I didn't think about. I know these have electric for desk top plugs.

We are trying to work a deal with the local county to take 45,000 to 100,000 sf and they love the furniture. Their employees are working with 40 year old+ furniture so they would love ours. But the county is slow to make a decision and we need to get at least a couple of floors cleared out so we can take better photos of how open and nice the space is.

But I hope someone can use the stuff. I would hate to see it go to a landfill.

I'll keep you guys updated. This is very interesting and fun to try and solve. I like your idea of how to negotiate the deal with that company. I won't have a problem selling the filing cabinets, some of the chairs, the conference tables, etc.

I had an office furniture buyer come by and he wanted to charge a bunch of money to remove everything. I'm sure he would make a small penny on the good stuff. No way would I do that.

I upload photos using photobucket. I don't think there's a way to simply copy and paste.

If you need a couple of floors immediately, I'd try the auction route. I'd even place ads in unconventional places too, such as some sort of international business supply equipment "newspaper" (if something like that exists). Who knows, maybe someone from the Caribbean, S. America, or even Africa would be interested. The ports of Savannah and Brunswick aren't too far away. Just make sure you have real USD in hand before they go out the building...

If you have a facebook page, post photos to that and then there is a way to copy the URL from there.

Since I can't post pictures, I can't share how well my job has gone. Found a scraper who was able to remove several hundred cubicles in under a week. We're still working on selling the rest of the good stuff. Thanks everyone.
