did he caught in a game of "hot potato"...?

Me thinks this guy might of got caught in a little game of "hot potato" of either already taken too many tube tvs down to the free city recycling drop-off or some other scheme that fell threw. My urge to scrap out crts is diminishing over time. Maybe this guy couldn't get over his...

I've done to many tvs. I bet Hoss looks at that pile an just laughs even harder tho.

Sirscrapalot - TVs...they got me going. So I gotta a little love for them. It's countered by all the hate also. - Me, on TVs.

I placed an add on CL wanteds- computers & laptops for scrap- got a response from a guy with a few box trucks full of CRT TVs wondering if I would take them . I responded . No thanks and good luck.
I think he thought at one time he was going to make a fortune and he is now discovering that they are not easy to get rid of ( lawfully) . Like people still thing old computers are worth alot of money 'cause there an ounce of gold in there ( sheesh )

RLS0812- Thanks for the video link to the abandoned crt scrapping warehouse or whatever they were doing.

My question after watching those 20 minutes where was all the coon, possum, and skunk ****...?? If there was a place like that open to the elements around here, there would be piles of critter poo throughout. The main section where most of the crts also was extremely well lit for just being skylights. Granted there was a lot of them but there still seemed something out of whack there. Sort of wonder why that place hadn't been cleaned up if it had been abandoned so long? I don't think our county would let a place fester like that as long, then again we don't have much for woods to hide things...

I doubt the city, county or taxpayers want to foot the bill for that cleanup.

It costs, what, about $8 - $20 per unit now-a-days to legally dispose of each CRT unit ?

The "big city" next door, which operates the landfill for 5 counties, will still take crts for free at their drop off. But we may be the exception nowadays. The city, up to maybe the past few years, hasn't been strapped for cash compared to other municipalities and counties.

I had a whole "classic example of multi-scale public policy failure" in figuring out what to do with crts before that generation of electronics were replaced thought out in my head this morning while showering. But I've decided not to write it out and post it because my negativity would accomplish what...? If policy makers at all scales don't want to hear solutions from some of the people on a forum such as this, they own the situation not me. Maybe the old business in the vid will simply be overtaken by the forest and a few centuries hence archeologists will find the place and try to figure out what happened there...

Very true, but the pieces of crap that ran that company kept all of the money and left. I hope they authorities have caught the people who did this and have put them in jail.
