Lookie what showed up today :-)

Another find day here on this island

    And look what showed up

A whole skid of old beta / video processing equipment

Never torn this stuff apart before ... should be fun.

I think I'll check eBay and see if there is any value to it first ... What do you guys think of it all?

Cant say I've ever dealt with it before but you're right to check ebay, might try craigslist or any other outlet you can before breaking it down.

You came close to giving me a heart attack - those guys almost look like old industrial Yokogawa recorders ( some models can sell for over $8,000 used )

Don't forget to do a google search. Its another avenue to discover other companies that may sell these and of course buy them as well. I have noted this with O-scopes. Mike

yes this is EXACTLY true...same thing I found with specialized medical monitors. I sold a non working one for $100

You got yourself a Beta editing setup there. Looks by the picture there is a player in the stack, and the top pic is the recorder. You can hook the two together and do some basic editing. I wish your pictures were better... Looks like the second picture has some TBC's (Time Base Corrector) and may also be a Black Burst generator. Hard to tell tho. All SD (Standard Definition) equipment, somebody might still be using that stuff tho...you never know.

Pjjost, thanks for that timely info. I have one of those sets stashed away in my spare bedroom. I wasn't sure what I
was going to do with it so it's kind of out of sight, out of mind.

Mech - There is also a 3/4" tape commonly referred to as "3/4".
3/4 Tape Decks look identical to the op's decks, just a different size slot for the tape, and Beta SP was much better quality video than 3/4.

And I looked closer at the op's pics. Looks like he has 3 players, and 3 player/recorders, and possibly a TBC or BB Generator. Nice find!

EDIT: What the OP has are Sony decks. Panasonic and JVC also made similar decks.

Some collector might want one. I paid $50 shipped for a S-vhs pro model JVC VCR last year for my video editing collection (and that was a steal).
