    1921 car scrapped

My brother and I had no other way to get the car out of the woods so we took it out piece by piece. I have figured out that if I have at least 1000 lbs on the truck, its usually a good 100 dollar payday which we split 50/50. Yesterday we were determined to get the engine to the truck so we literally rolled it out of the woods.
The total weight of the engine was about 650 lbs. and we rolled it about 200 yards. Im still sore this morning but we made 92 dollars for that Haul. We had 2 copper/ aluminum radiators from an A/C unit 2 bags of cans and a bucket of copper.
I have the rest of the front end of the car on the truck to go to the yard on Monday!

not trying to sound like an a$$. but why would you scrap a motor from 1921? its not like you find one everyday. to each his own, but i could never scrap that.

I don't know DC...seems to me like a 1921 would get a taker even if it was rusty....I'd think about advertising as is next time, unless it was crumbling in your hands...then you couldn't have rolled it. Not tryin to make you feel bad....just giving you something to think about for next time.

It makes sense. I've been in similar situations. Where its something that you KNOW would be worth money if it wasnt such a heap. Sounds like you did the right thing bud, good find.

Street Rod guys pay good money for "real steel"....that motor was probably a flathead....if you have fenders or grille or even front axle, I would list it on craigs list under auto section....the straight axle (front axle) 200.00 to a rodder..........

From his post i'm guessing it was a rust HEAP. I have alot of buddies that buy the "real steel". When i stumbled across something like that in the desert, they didnt want anything to do with it because it was all in such bad condition. Flathead or not.

    Thanks The Hoss

We knew the car was in the woods No one else even attempted to get it out of there! I was well worth the time we used to scrap it and it brought us the CASH WE NEEDED at the time! Thanks for Understanding!
