    Window Tint

Well last night I figured with scrap prices on the rise it couldn't hurt to take a quick cruise over to my favorite scrap neighborhood. Hoped in the truck, turned on the radio and headed out.

Now a little background on the truck. Its a 2002 single cab with manual windows and manual locks, I recently got my front windows tinted to 20% and my back done 5%. For those of you that are not familiar with tint, the percentage signifies the amount of light that is allowed in, or VLT (Visible Light Transmittance) So 20% is fairly dark. 35% is the legal limit here in Illinois.

Anyways as I entered the neighborhood I began my usual route. I noticed something different. It was very hard to see the right side of the street. The window tint was blocking my view of making out any scrap on the curb! Normally I would roll my window down, but it was a chilly night and I did not want that cross breeze blowing through my truck. Since I have manual windows its impossible for me to reach over and crank down that window every time I need to look at something. So I have stumbled into a problem that I did not foresee. I guess I will have to tough it out and try to look ahead rather than to the side.
