    A few small metal items

    Hi Guys

Though I would share a funny moment from today. A friend of mine said to me that she knew a guy that might have a few small metal items for me. This guy called me Friday and right off the bat started talking about a snow plow blade and how three guys could get it into the back of my 5 x 7 trailer  I was really surprised, it seems a small job just got bigger!
He then went on to talk about how he had a bunch of stuff I could prob sell and some small metal items

I'm new to the game, but I love it. You just never know whats coming next

    Cheers

Congratulations. That blade is likely longer than your trailer. It may even strain its weight capacity.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

    Gotta love situations like that!

Thats why i love picking up washers and dryers on craigslist. Because a simple "Would you happen to have anything else laying around that you want to get rid of?" could get you MUCH more than you ever thought.

Well Mick as I have a Brain, I know the capacity of my trailer and here in New Hampshire we have things called tape measures. Saw the Blade, no problem. You other boys..spot on. The guy gave me about 10 pounds of heavy gauge wire, an engine hoist and two plastic boxes of cast aluminum and stainless. Turns out the fellow used to run a machine shop...score. I shall return for the blade with some friends, heck maybe even a Torch

Wow, I will bet you could make some more money on that engine hoist than just scrapping it. There are pretty expensive brand new.

I thought of that Wewillprevail. I figured out it was missing the pump, I cashed it in today as #1 steel. The plow blade looks like it's been sitting for 100 years Idahoscrapper..I though of resale too. If I only took one bit of advice from people on the forum it would be to to see the true value in something before I see the scrap

    Cheers

Winters coming soon talk to any local plow guys about used up blades. the current trend in plows seems to be the v blade plow which is awesome for scrappers because no cutting is required. other than that its 6' to 16' blades usually 3- 4 inches wide at least an inch thick. Things plow company's also have laying around would be wiring harnesses rusted out plows broken a frames broken chains broken spreader motors and conveyors lots of shovels and truck lights and the occasional truck.
And the biggest of them all the 25' loader plow
There ain't nothing wrong with an honest days work. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.- Old Man
