    Awesome score today!

Heavy truck bumper and 4 aluminum rads from a mechanics shop, 2 lb brass spigot I randomly found, and a whole bunch of underground power cable plus clean tinned copper. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it but I think it's 750 mcm?(If you look at Rockaway Recyclings price list that's what it looks like) I stripped all the smaller pieces for about 15 lbs of bare bright and I have 2 other bundles of cable longer then my arm that I think I'll just bring in whole since I have to scrap this all by tomorrow and I don't really have a space to work on stuff and store it like I used to anymore. I already cleaned up the aluminum rads of all the plastic earlier. Id post pics but I have this problem where I can't erase my old uploaded photos on this site to make room for new ones :/

I turned everything in today, $163 all from the stuff I got yesterday. Bare bright was 2.15 a lb and the unstripped cable was 1.65 a lb. so I didn't really lose much by not stripping the rest especially considering the work involved in getting the insulation off.

Sounds like a great opportunity for you to step up and provide a service for Forum Members by paying a higher price

Exactly. Prices are low for copper in my area and nobody's really paying different prices. There's only one yard in my immediate area the rest are farther away and they usually pay similar prices anyway. I also like my yard because I know them well and they trust me, they don't look at me as a possible bum or crackhead just because I'm young.

Exactly, if we chased every single grade of material for the highest prices today for each pound you have today any extra $$ if any will be spent paying for gas and your time.
Please dont do what I did and trip over dollars getting dimes, actually book your sheets against your cost, fuel, time and maintenance of your whole system many times it plays out better in actual net profit to stay local and sell one fair, reputable place. Then when your jammed up and bought that mcm for more than its worth the place you EARNED your reputation from for being a fair customer for THEM comes in handy. I cant tell you how many times latley I was saved by a place I sold alot to for years when the markets go crazy weak he always helped me!!
