I was looking at the titles and thought when I looked at "A Day in the Life of a Scrapper",
that my description would be better suited as "A Day in the Life of a Collector", or "A Day in the Life of a Recycler"
Just as there are many types of collectors there are also many types of recyclers and scrappers.
I am a collector of curious and interesting curios.
I will try and recycle most anything if possible as I'm all for a cleaner and more organized world, even if it can only be accomplished on mostly a small personal scale.
I have never paid much mind to scrapping personally as I was busy with other things that interested me more. I figured that the scrap can sit and wait as it's mostly just a bonus from the many years of hauling things home.
When we look at the selling price of scrap cars and such was about $5.00 a ton 30 years ago and where it has gone from there over the last 30 years, we see that it always goes up more then it goes down over time.
That is what I would tell those that would get all excited every time the scrap metals price made a sizable jump. I don't like standing in line unless it is required in the bigger picture as I view it personally.
What motivated me to make this post?
I was just thinking about how EXCITED I am about the days and daze ahead as I travel in time. The frost is about gone and the standing water is all but gone along with most of the snow and ice around the yard. Still needs to dry out a bit more in a few areas that are dirt and such. The graveled paths and such are fine for wheel barrows and other large wheeled containers that I use when I am clearing, clearing and sorting things out in the yard.
I find it interesting how much this forum has motivated me by reminding me of things I but forgot and the infinity of information that is available with more added every day.
One of my favorite sayings is:
Life is what you make it,
some just try and fake it.
I also like the quote: "every day is a new adventure."
Many people still want to view me as a tough to understand person as I find Living in a private salvage yard very comfortable and exciting.
I will smile so much during the day some times that at the end of the day my face will hurt. I find it interesting that my face muscles haven't become accustomed to the work out.
Instead of six pack abs I could have beer keg cheeks?
I'm so excited, I'm about to loose control and I just can't help it,lol...
I find it interesting that I get more excited lately reading over this forum then I do looking over
eBay. What I mean by that is that I will look at things on eBay that interest me and when I see a item that I have a example of selling or sold at a very nice price. It makes me feel good in a mellow excited way. I love those oxymorons.
I suppose that I can be viewed as a oxymoron also as I'm consistent in my inconsistencies. Always have been as it works well for me.
I was so excited about getting outside for a bit that I was outside for about 20 minutes with bare feet in a t shirt with a flashlight as I wanted to go look at something.
I hardly ever wear shoes. Only when required and then I have a very nice selection from which to choose. I will have a few pair of shoes and boots along with me in my vehicle as I travel along with other things that I might require for personal use or trade. I have always had a nice selection of quality items in my vehicles as I travel.
Nice wool blankets, survival items, tools and small interesting curios.
It pays to think and plan ahead has always been one of my favorites.
measure twice and cut once. Works for me and my dog.
