    My Cl Ads

Preparing to start working my scrap metal business and taking a huge leap forward on February 22nd when I turn 16 and get a truck. I purchased 500 professional flyers on vistaprint and will be handing those out, I have made tons of cl ad's for all different things and will post those on my birthday. Ill be doing curb shopping 3 days a week before school in sorrounding neighborhoods and pickups for my uncle when he needs it, and hauling for my dads company. I will be a busy person hopefully and be able to meet my savings goals. Here are my ad pictures below.

Looks good. The TV hauling may bring in people who need to get rid of one or two and then have a lot of better scrap for you.

I like the pictures, they let people see just what you're talking about.

Make sure to correct the spelling on EQUIPMENT in the third ad. There's no T after the P. I'm not trying to bring you down, just trying to help. The more professional and correct the ad, the more likely you'll get business.

Good luck and keep us posted on the results.

Yea thanks a lot! I definitely want to spell stuff right and sound good. Yes that's what I am hoping because hauling tv's for $10 all day wouldn't be profitable because of gas, so its just a way to connect with potential customers. Ill keep everyone posted.

I'm jealous! You get your license at 16. I only got my beginners at 16. I have to wait another 8 months after I got my beginners. And now my driving test if Friday, two days before you get yours. Do you have to do a test to get it?

Agreed if I see an ad with poor grammar or misspelled words I move onto the next

You got that right. Never have I seen a man as focused on his goals like Devon. And he's been @ it a few years. And iam not to proud to say I've learned from his post.

Right on man. Im now 18 and did the same as you starting out at 16 full time. I can say the first year will be getting your name out there and producing and finding contacts. Not a ton of money but good enough to keep you going depending on what your goal is. Every year after that you will grow exponentially once you find your niche and proper avenues to advertise to. Two years in and I already have commercial contacts and am one of the biggest haulers in the area. Now running 3 trucks and 5 trailers. Good luck to ya and if you need any advise from someone close to your age let me know.

Thanks a lot everyone. And yes lhb here you get a learners permit at age 15 and can drive until your 16 with a parent in the vehicle. 2 months before you are 16 you can take the drivers test with an instructor and basically you drive around the block a few times and you get your license, which is valid on your 16th birthday. If you take drivers ed and not have your parents teach you than you don't have to take the license test, you only have to pass drivers ed. But I had my dad teach me and than took the test and passed, so they mail me it on my birthday and I can drive right away.

Thanks alot f350 we may be in contact. I want to move on past being a normal everyday scrapper and build a larger business out of it. I feel I have a small advantage because of all the family and friends that support me with their business' and their contacts they give me. People like you really get me thinking what I can really do if I try

Just a thought.. I understand you are charging to pick up TVs,

but the general public may think you are offering to pay $10 each (You need to be specific)
