I really get annoyed by CL flaggers....

I put a legit ad on CL and someone in the section for computer services flags down my ad everyday within 15-20 mins. Really sucks I've had a scrap ad in another section and it never gets flagged down I just renew it every week. How do you guys deal with flaggers?

I usually keep at it - the first few months I was up here looking for a pickup I ran into this issue. The person flagging eventually gave up.

Have several versions of your add readily available so that you can copy and paste when it gets flagged...rotate thru your adds so your not always posting the same one and try a few different sections.

This, exactly. It's just another opportunity to post a new add and be at the top of the list.

I got flagged once for selling refurb computers as owner. Switched to "by Dealer" and haven't had the issue again. Just something to check. If its a cyber bully, just change add/picture enough so he doesn't immediately recognize you. Sad but true...

It sucks when you get flagged especially when you have a legit ad but, I do think that some people get a little too obnoxious and post way too many times. It makes it so every one feels like they have to post lots of times because one person is flooding the list. I recently reviewed the people posting in my area and realized that the same guy posted like 30 times (the same service) in the same day with different ads, some with pictures, some without, and changing up the text a little bit. I think 2-3 ads per day is fair but, 30 or even 10 is far too many and deserves to be flagged. (CL rules state over posting is a flaggable offense.)

Did they give a reason? Does the ad actually get removed or is someone just b!tching about it? Try addressing the reason and re submit the ad.

A reason is never given. If enough craigslist users flag it, then it will be removed, end of story, end of post.

yup, they've got their own little committee over there and if a bunch of people doesn't like the way you word something or like what you're trying to do, they'll flag it and get their friends to flag it till it's removed. It's a CL mob.

    Overwhelm the system!

I'd keep about 4 or 5 ad copies ready. When one's removed, put another up.

    They'll usually give up.

I had an issue close to what you're having issues with, I belong to the MN House hold waste program, and I pick up in a 250 mile radius, and I post in a area that I was unaware,, and they didn't quite like that, so that may be an issue too, maybe someone is doing the same thing you're doing. So.. what I did, I posted in a different section.. of the CL to stay clear of there ad, after I've found a post of their, and no problem since then.

Bottom line is in our line of work, 99.999% of the flagging and removal is done by competitors. They are trying to reduce the competition. Many of them have several craigslist accounts, and can perform the required numbers of flags (not sure how many is required for a removal) to get the removal done by themselves. They are a pretty sorry bunch, but it is what it is and you just have to deal with it. Best way is as several have suggested, repost. Eventually most (not all though) will see their flagging is an effort in futility, and will give up.

I noticed if it's in an computer catagory it gets taken down fast. Then I posted in a wanted section and I get some text at 10pm from a number that's not in my area code that sent a link to check if that's the "type" of thing I'm looking for. I never clicked the link deleted the text. Didn't even open it just read the preview.
Noticed last night a lot of "broken computer wanted" and "cash for broken computers" ads. Probably those guys. I'm thinking about just getting flyers and finding a spot to do a drive thru e-waste recycling day and just load up my trailer. Park in a high traffic area and get it going.
