    Over $2000.00 from one call

One night a guy from lowes called and asked if I could pick up a few loads of metal.it ended up being an entire tractor trailer filled with appliances and metal.it was so much stuff that I had to borrow my flatbed tow truck from work.i ended up getting three full truckloads that I brought right to the scrap yard cause I had no where to put it all.i also brought home 25 air conditioners that i broke down.i would of loved to been able to break all this stuff down cause i probably woulda made double.i still got over 1600 that day for the truckloads and another 500 a week later for the air conditioners.it was a good week.

Did you notice on the bottom of your Weitsman's receipt that when you signed it, you certified that you recovered all the refrigerant in accordance with section 608 of the clean air act!

Freon recovery doesn't need to be the talk of all posts, it's getting tiring and it's not needed

And last time I went in there with a freezer, I had to sign another, separate slip that said if there was still Freon in it, they would recover it and charge me $15 per item! Yikes!

But the next time I went, I had a big-azz fridge and nobody said a word…so I dunno

    Devin,

Last time I checked, one of the goals of this forum was to provide new and old scrappers alike with valuable information and insight into the world of scrapping. Judging by how often questions come up about how to scrap an AC or Fridge, or people alluding to the fact that they cut the lines and let the **** fly, many people are unaware of the regulations, fines and most importantly what this does to the ozone. Older refrigerants are ozone depleting chemicals. According to the scientists, this contributes to global warming (still not sure if I believe it all that global warming stuff).
I'm sorry that you are getting bored with the "Freon" talk. Maybe you should suggest to the ADMIN that a sticky is developed that has all the information on Freon and all the other refrigerants out there. I'm sure with all the times that you've read about it, you'd be the perfect one to provide ADMIN with this information.

I did as a continuation of a joke from another thread........I realize it is no joking matter but if you are not going to do the right thing just keep it to yourself (My opinion which means nothing)........I hope you all are well and everything is GOOD

Ok, yes this forum is to provide information but every thread posted with anything involving something containing freon people need to reply "I hope your recovering the freon right" and all this about freon. This is not needed, like people have said to me when I post things asking questions they refer me to past threads which explain stuff, he could easily do his research if he wanted to know what to do with the freon. I am sorry if you do not agree but I think its kind of repetitive and un-needed

My yard doesn't charge me for refrigerant recovery because I am one of their top customers.
