ummm....Ebay is your friend....just like google in many instances....ALWAYS USE YOUR SEARCH OPTIONS, you will answer 99% of your questions....EBAY is a FREE wealth of current pricing for **** near everything because it will show you SOLDS (IE what people PAY for something)

2 have sold since May - 1 for $50 and 1 for $100 (I believe these are working models)
I just didn't think Ebay would be that great for a television set, seeing as how much shipping would cost on a television. Thanks for the response though, appreciate it

People will buy almost anything on eBay, especially if it's something they can't get locally or from a normal online retailer. If that's the case, they'll usually be fine with ponying up on the shipping.Originally Posted by Longhairboy

and Longhairboy - maybe not sell on ebay, but KNOW what the heck they are worth...THAT was my point.
And clearly 2 people thought it was valuable enough to ship (and who cares the BUYER is pay shipping anyways). The other place I might suggest is to GOOGLE "commodore fan board" or similar terms to find people INTERESTED in your "collectible" as it clearly would have little to no value to anyone else. You will still be shipping...but again buyer should be paying shipping anyways on purchases, so not your problem.
Otherwise it is worth VERY little...tv guts with a bit of money for the old computer boards. The fact that someone paid $50 and $100 on EBAY is FAR FAR FAR more than you will get if you strip it....heck even if NOT working I bet you might get more for the parts that scrap.
I CERTAINLY would do my research on the fan board AND try EBAY....can't hurt anything and costs little to nothing to try....but up to you...you have the knowledge now

yes, the commodore monitors are worth more than scrap, they can be worth more than some models of commodore.i was told $50 and up buyer pays shipping.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.
Thank you for your information guys. They're tv's I'm quite sure, I didn't see a spot where the monitor would plug into a computer. Everything else I got from this pickup worked, so I can't see why these wont. Thanks again!
I took another look at it, and seen on the front of it it said Video Monitor. Does it mean tv or computer monitor? its model number is 1702
Well looks like its a computer monitor, still don't see how it hooks up to a computer. I looked them up on ebay, lowest I found was $27 and highest was $115, looking through sold listings. Looks like I'm gonna be testing after church!

It might connect with the av cables, but i'm not sure that monitor was used with the commodore 64 a lot

This will give you most of the info you are looking for....and BTW, the commodore tv DOES NOT hook up to a commodore 64 (I owned one of those in the 1980's, my 1st computer BTW)...you hooked it to a normal tv with one of adapators KzScrapper posted...
a REAL Commodre TV used an AMIGA 500 (a later computer Commodore came out with)...the computer was built into essentially a home stereo type of enclosure (the wiki shows all of this stuff).
BASED ON THE MODEL info you posted, you DO NOT have a Commodore CCTV.....you HAVE a commodore 64 MONITOR (13")...here is where you will see it in the OTHER PERIPHERALS Commodore 64 peripherals - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Based on an ebay seach for solds: These run $30-100 EACH if they work...and looks like ALOT more sales and FAR easier to ship since they are 13" monitors

1702's are nice, people still use them for old video game consoles and C64 systems.

I think the reason why people like them is because you can plug video games into the front if them.
They do 'look the part' when it comes to video games and they free up the main TV when you need to watch tele at the same time.
They are a bit more robust than flatscreens and use very little power, mainly ease of use I guess.
I did sell some commodore/ amigas locally and I had so many phone replies on the answer phone I gave up listening after the third message.
Do I just plug them in and see if they power up to test them? I have no video game systems to hook up to test the ports on the front, since theres only 2 ports I can't hook up my xbox or anything like that.

you should be able to see if they come on by plugging them in. They do make those cheap video games that look like a joystick (they are cheap at WalMart) and THOSE plug into the front AV ports (like in the pic unknownk posted)....I would pick up one of those maybe just in case where yo can show it is working in your pic....will cost you $10, but since you have 20-30 of these things...the upside is worth it...that is what I would do.

your vcr or DVD player may have available ports on them. if you have 3 plug instead of 2 I believe it's foe stereo sound and you can use one audio and the video

What Matt said on the dvd/vcr. I got a tube tv here at the house i use, with front ports, an I use it for my 360 and other stuff. All plug in just fine to the front ports.
Good luck with the tv/monitor/whatever it is, Commodore/Amiga's were some of the first I used. Heh.

So I probably could hook my xbox up to it and only use 2 of the slots. Thanks for the info, will plan to test them tonight. I'm going to try kijiji first since theres no fees either. I'll just ask $50 each, and if 3 work and 3 don't I'll include a broken one for parts too
