great start to the week

So I woke up early monday morning and loaded up the truck with all of my stripped appliances.

I had:

1 stove
1 refrigerator
2 dryers
1 washer

I stripped all of the wires from the washer and dryers and a few bits of aluminum.
I could not get the motors off though.. not sure if i made a big mistake there or not.

So anyways I made 90 bucks for all of it. I was hoping for a bit more but its alright.

I still have my cable, copper, and aluminum piles which are growing..

On dryers, there is usually a snap clip holding it at the rear, and then at the front it's sometimes blocked by the blower housing so you can't get to it very well. Remove the rear clip, then beat the hell out of the blower housing to separate the motor.

Same with dishwashers. I find I use a claw hammer quite often to separate motors.

On washers I find they are bolted in good enough that you have to wrench them out.

I also pull heating elements from appliances that have them. Haven't found any one to take them yet, but am told they are worth removing.

when i got to the yard i asked the guy what they paid for motors from washers and dryers and he said uhh 10 cents a pound.
its funny because i am getting .11 cents for mixed metal!
must have just been trying to rip me off..

lol, yeah that doesn't make sense. I've seen others post that they get anywhere from 25 to 30 cents. No idea what my yard pays since I am saving up a pile before I go in.
