    New Score

Want to start out my saying this forum and the people on it are great. I have learned so much, if it wasn't for this forum I most likely wouldn't have been able to capitalize on my latest deal. I will try to make this quick, fellow co-worker came into my office a couple weeks ago and pick up a motherboard I had on my desk and started asking questions (what is this worth, whats in it, is this gold, blah, blah, blah) I told him what I have learned and let him know I do recycle old, broken, and unused electronic's/computers.

The next day, first thing in the morning he walks in with two boards and says what if I told you I have access to 8 gaylords or this type and other various boards. Well fast foward to now. The 8 gaylords have turned into 32. The deal is, I process the boards, aluminum, and copper. Send to buyer and take to yard. We split, not 50/50. I pay nothing. We are going to see how the first gaylord goes. The one I'm currently processing is 1257 lbs.

Now to be clear the boards very. I have low grade boards that I have already got a price of .35 lbs. But there are also alot of mid to telcom also. Hope it works out, so far it's going good. I have some pics. Enjoy!

Congrats on that deal!! Always a good deal when you don't have to front a bunch of money, and then spend weeks tearing stuff down to get your money back. Goes to show you should tell EVERYONE that you do that type of stuff. Congrats again.

That right there is a very good reason I tell everyone to network with people and hand out cards cause you never know who's sitting on that next big goldmine. Nice catch,,,

Congrats! That sounds like an ideal situation. Someone else does the sourcing, and you get to play with tools, do the smashing...and get money for nothin! (and chicks for free?...)

It it a local buyer or yard that's paying .35 per pound for your low grade? That's a pretty good price on those alone. Congrats and here's to your continued success.

Ace that is indeed a nice score, hope that new partnership works out for both of you. I have always said some get paid for what they can do and others get paid for what they know. I find it much easier to be in the know column. Again congradulations and keep us posted on what you learn.

Jill "chicks for free" is a myth, my dream but pure fiction. A man can always dream though. LOL Also a great song, I get a lot out of that one!

It is nice to get paid for what you know. The guy I'm working with isn't in the business of scrap/ewaste, but he comes accross this stuff. He was sending the gaylords, when he got some, to a place that was just paying a flat per lbs for the. The price was coming from them looking at pictures. So it was very low price.

Wow Ace, nice score ! Looks like alot of the work is done for you with most of it being broken down already. I would not mind getting it that way and just having to sort it but then I don't get to take out my frustrations rippin and tearin those pieces apart.
It's a kind of therapy for me to break it all down and sort it out. I am working on a deal with a good size lot of computer workstations I am scheduled to pick up next week( fingers crossed) . I'll post some pics in the forum if I can when I pick up the load.
Good luck with all that and I hope works out to be nice $$$$$$$

Actually there is alot of work to processing the boards, The one pic is what I have done so far. I didn't think there would be, but I guess I want it to go faster than it is.

Finished the first box last week, last night I unloaded the 2nd one. The new one is also over 1200 lbs. All the boards will be shipped today from first load, the aluminum, copper, brass, and shred will go out Monday. I was surprised on the amount of IC chips I got from the first load, I haven't weighed them yet, but guessing around 3 lbs. Doesn't sound like alot, but sure was alot in the container I placed them in. Here is picture of the 2nd load.
