Blacksteel, we are only as good as the knowledge we acquire and have. You just go right ahead and leave those tvs, some brainless person like myself will stop by and pick them up. I will make comments on your posts once you have over 100.

TV's are great if you can dispose of the tubes properly. Good job.

On the other hand I see another here using words and phrases like measuring stick, mother load and the scales did not recognize me. I ask you Big Time, are you trying to compensate for something?

Big time no not really .Hi I'm Metallic maniac. The name is my fame and real. The jobs I have done I could write a best seller. The wonderful calls and clients. The fact that people gawk at my loads from job to yard. Even the feds were amazed by my loads and stopped hassling my best yard after I showed the fed I'm real and good. Can't touch this. I work alone. Cast tub from 3rd fl alone. Radiators also. That's why I'ma maniac. I'm that scrap guy. Always free and happy to help. My customers say I'm simply amazing. Awesome really. I rock lol. Though I'm very humble. No need to lie. No thing gained.

Sorry, Mr. Wonderful, you're math doesn't even add up. But tell ya what. You keep on doing what you're doing. I'm sure you're setting the scrap world on fire. You're all that and a bag of chips. Yep. Why, you might even drive me out of the scrap business completely. There's no way I could compete with you. Oh wait. I forgot, The IGGY BUTTON!!

That's funny. Math ? Not math just my experience. And opinion. When I first started all was worth it and I did rip apart most electronics. I had my TV time . I used to take all for free before the switch. Now only HD I sell for parts. To explore means a great beginning. Also I picked up a seasoned partner in early years . We made real money daily. Then the recession now alot of yards and scales seem .....hmmmmm.

Well have another tv being brought on thursday to wotk looked up places on here that i can drop off unused tubes found that goodwill accepts called my local goodwill the lady said will not take ones that have been striped down they must work. Have not called another one near me to see if they accept old tubes. I called local best buy nearest to me they accept them as long as a contained unit i just cannot bring them in to store in pieces. I will see if any goodwills are closer and if they accept way i ubderstood on there site they took them may just be that store

I think you will find that most Goodwill's will take old computer monitors but not old tv's. Best Buy will take tv's but have size restrictions and don't want people bringing them in on a regular basis.

Tv's should yield 3-5 bucks in scrap with monitors being closer to the $5 mark. When Goodwill stopped taking tv's I quit taking them too.

Staples will take monitors, and check your town website to see if they accept them at public works, my whole state passed a law that every town must accept them, you just have to drop them off

My sandbar will let you drop them off at the recycle center, stripped or not. They'd rather have it with nothing then sitting in the woods somewhere, or worse the beach. It's where I take mine. Never had a good experience with GoodWill when it came to TV's. It soured them for me for good.

Check with Best buy, size limits is usually over 32 I think an there is a fee if it's a console/cabinet tv. If I recall their site right.

Local (county) center takes monitors at no charge. They charge $1 for CRTs and (so I am told) $5 for anything flat screen. I haven't accepted any sets in quite some time because of this. Nearest Goodwill (or Best Buy for that matter) is +/- 15 - 20 miles away (one way).

    the black pail was full
and so far is up to 21 pounds with some more of those copper wound around steel to work on
I put the torch there to show size reference .
You know your a scrapper when you don't count what you have
just work it to a selling weight

I found a small Ball Pein Hammer works well on the cast
