    pickup mods

thought this would be a fun one, what have you all done to your trucks to make 'em suited for the abuse of scrapping??, i myself am working on bed walls, a headache rack for the rear glass, and bed lining my whole truck. toying with a roof rack idea as well.

Your young Jord, it's not supposed to make sense. It's either supposed to look good, go fast, or crush something buddy.

    Sirscrapalot - I drive a mini-van, it's awesome enough it doesn't need mod'ed

To my pickup I have added:

    100,000 miles
    Countless dents and scratches
    Cigarette burns
A pile of soda cans in the back of the cab

Got it pretty much where I want it now

not so much for scrapping, more for all around:

    1994 Dodge Cummins 3500 dually 2wd:

    - 4 inch straight pipe exhaust (to fix the dump after downpipe)
    - Kenworth front bumper
    - aftermarket headlights, LED spot lights aux.
    - HD rear bumper
    - toolbox in bed
    - on board air
    - custom stereo so I can drown out the dually
    - CB
    - big honkin air filter, torktek ofv, larger fuel feed lines, tweaked afc, in cab pre boost knob,
    - upgraded brakes
    - replaced tires

Need to get goin on that WMO setup so fuel is cheaper

Thanks for the post. Truck modifications serve many purposes, I myself have to have a specific type of truck with specific modifications to be able to handle our scrap.

24" Box Van, Extended Rear Platform, Heavy duty lift gate, Broom holders, and tools holders on wall inside, first aid kit mounted on wall at rear gate.

Since i drive the smaller fuel efficiant trucks i first added:
    Quality shock absorbers
    Helper springs
New tires with higher max inflation
    Helped big time.

Lift gates are handy for loading heavy/bulky items up into the back of a pickup truck
