It's finally my turn... mother load.

So I've been away from the forum for a good long while, between work and school I haven't really had time to scrap... or do much else for that matter so I haven't actively pursued it, at least not till I graduate.

Through word of mouth though, and doing little things like taking other peoples cans at work, it's gotten around that I do a bit of scrapping. One of those people was a teacher at my school, who also does a sort of computer reclamation thing where he get's computers and puts together a functional one and donates it, the leftover he holds onto for parts.

Well, this past couple weekends he had to move his base of operation, from the building he was using, to his garage.... which is significantly smaller. As a result I currently have a one car garage full of computers, parts and associated items, along with a relatives 2 car garage about half full. I spent last night just sorting through the boxes of parts in my garage and already have a 15 gallon tote full of finger cards and ram, 10 or so motherboards, a shelf full of various drives, a giant pile of power supplies, and even some of the good CPUs... so yeah, I'm a happy camper. All off word of mouth too...

Had to tell someone, and ya'll are the only group that would get it. :-)

He knows me, we're student/teacher but we're on a first name basis, exchanged phone numbers and all. I'll have to look around for shipping, I've just been taking the little bits and pieces I get to a hole in the wall place right around the corner from my house.

OK... So I apparently broke cardinal rule by not having pictures, hopefully you can forgive me.... :-)

This is all just one garage, it's about the same in the second garage.

so i'm out curb shopping tonight and i see this guy pull over and start walking up to he truck, i reach for a card and he asks if i'm out looking for metal? i said ya and electronics. oh really he says i have a bunch of computer carcases if you want them follow me home its only a few blocks up the road. so i follow this guy home and he hooks me up with 8 towers with only HDs removed and the odd card. Turns out he runs a computer shop out of his house, so the idea light turned on and i made him a offer/ deal. i said to him i'll box up my hord of computer stuff and let him pick through and test keep what he wants and i get all his scrap. we shook hands and i'm now looking foward to a dozen towers/lap tops every other week. my mother board hoard is on the up
