    Optical mouse circuit boards

had to take a trip to Wally-World (WALMART) for a new mouse yesterday. Picked up a couple because my cats love to claw mine to death on a regular basis. Anyway--my question is--- Is the circuit board in them worth keeping. no big hassle taking them out--not much to them, so keep--throw away, shred. or what?

I cut the cord and toss them in the shred pile. I toss keyboards, Laptop LCD's and carcasses, scanners, and printers in there also. My yard doesn't care.

Actually mice have a brown board in them...I get .20/lb...and all I have to do is pull 1 screw and hit slightly with a hammer on the side. Cracks just like an egg. There is an extra 3 or so inches of wire in there. If a ball mouse, the ball is rubber covered steel.

Takes me 30 sec at most so really depends on if your value vs $$$ works, you have a brown board buyer and if your yard will take them if you dont. I don't break alot of stuff down, but this is quick and easy for the roi.

Optical mice have a little clear plastic chip in them with about 12 strands of gold inside it.
